Creating a database
Changing the database title
The default database title is My Internet shortcuts and is displayed at the top of the Categories-tree. To change the database title:
Alternatively, you can use the Database properties-dialog, which can be opened via the File|Database properties... menu item. Here you can also change the description for your database.
Adding content to the database
Now that you've created a new database, it's time to add some content to it:
As you can see in Fig. 4, URLBase displays the number of Internet shortcuts contained within a category after the category's name. To add an Internet shortcut:
- Click on the File menu, point to New and click on Internet shortcut...
- URLBase will display the New Internet shortcut-dialog. Type a name for the new Internet shortcut in the Name editbox. For this example we'll use URLBase 6 web site
- Type the URL for the new Internet shortcut, for example: http://www.terriadev.com/urlbase.
Hint: if you type the URL without the protocol ("www.terriadev.com/urlbase/"), URLBase will automatically add the default protocol ("http://").
- Optionally, type a description for the Internet shortcut in the Description editbox
- Click OK to add the new Internet shortcut

The new Internet shortcut is added to the Internet shortcut list-view (see Fig. 5). To visit the web site referred to by the Internet shortcut's URL, either click on the URL or double-click on the Internet shortcut's name. URLBase will open the web site in the default browser.
